Location: Bulphan, Essex RM14 3TL
Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 per annum (full-time equivalent, depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday. Full-time, part-time or flexitime options available

The Role
Do you have a knack for organisation, an appreciation for sustainable materials and an interest in wood? We need a detail-oriented and proactive team member to take charge of our timber stock, ensuring it's well-organised, accurately recorded and available for sale online and in-person.
Key Responsibilities
- Organise & Label Stock: Label and catalogue our extensive timber stock, working closely with our team to ensure every board is graded and accurately described.
- Build & Maintain Our Stock Database. Create a digital record of our stock, making it easier to track, sell and manage.
- Upload Products for Sale. List timber boards on our website, including photographs descriptions, dimensions and pricing.
- Manage Customer Enquiries & Sales. Help customers and our furniture making team find the right timber, respond to online and in-person requests and ensure smooth order fulfillment.
- Pick, Pack & Dispatch Orders. Once an order is placed, coordinate picking the right boards and preparing them for collection or delivery.
- Sales and Marketing. Work with our Marketing Manager to showcase stock creatively and develop online sales opportunities.
- Manual Handling. Safely move and handle timber boards, both indoors and outdoors in the yard – this is very much a hands-on role.
Essential Skills & Qualities
- A convincing interest in wood and a desire to deepen your knowledge.
- Detail-oriented & methodical – you enjoy organising, labelling and creating systems.
- Comfortable using computers, including Excel and some experience managing large numbers of data records.
- A self-starter who enjoys solving problems and getting stuck in.
- Confidence in manual handling and also likes working outdoors.
- Able to use power and hand tools and come up with solutions to practical everyday challenges.
- Customer-focused – Friendly and confident in helping customers find what they need
- A confident and enthusiastic communicator – keen to share information and work as a team.
- Driving licence and transport to get to RM14 3TL.
Useful Skills & Experience
- Experience of DIY, furniture-making, workshop or construction industry.
- Experience setting up or improving stock management systems.
- Experience working with sales and marketing functions to develop sales.
- A passion for sustainability.
- Forklift driving experience.
